A Few Daniel Moments In Time...

1) Daniel (hollering from the bathroom where he's sitting on the potty): "Mommmmmmmmmmm.........I need a book"

2) Mom: Daniel, what's your favorite fruit?

Daniel: Dragons.......pink ones.......

3) Going binky-less for the first time tonight. It might be an epic fail, or it might be that my baby is really growing up...

4) While going to bed, he requests I sing him "Somewhere over the rainbow" and he chimes in with me on a few words. I love it that he's started to like music and singing...

Florida - 2011

We had a GREAT time in Florida - It was a little colder than we planned, but we got some great beach time and it was STILL way warmer than it was at home, which is all that matters, right?

Also at marineland - sums up the kids perfectly - Sydney is our willing poser, Daniel, not so much :)

She's a winner!

So, my nephew Sam had a homework assignment - get responses from 30 members of your family for a simple question - "How many servings of fruits and veggies do you get in a day?"

I answered for me - probably about 3 - I'm a fan of veggies and fruit, and do well with veggies, but could stand to get more fruit

I answered for Michael - maybe 1 - He tolerates fruit and skips all veggies except lettuce

I answered for Sydney - Easily 5 - she loves her fruit AND her vegetables

I answered for Daniel - maybe 2 - he loves fruit, but avoids veggies if he can..

Turns out Sydney was the winner out of all 30 responses! We knew she was our best eater - we had no idea she beats out our whole family :) To quote Auntie Let, "Not too shabby for a 3yr old!"

The zoo!

We decided to take advantage of our FONZ (Friends of the National Zoo) membership and get outside on a semi-nice day... The best benes of the membership are free parking and free animal cookies for the kiddoes :) (those zoo people are pretty smart handing out free cookies right when you get there!)

The kids enjoyed walking on the elephant tracks on the way to see the elephants:

But mom liked getting pretty close to the elephants - we got there right at feeding time :)

And Sydney liked the pandas!

Nice weather :)

Took advantage of the beautiful weather today to get OUTSIDE for some fun in the back yard - mainly sliding face first down the slide :)
